combining linear and dynamic analyses

i want to calculate stresses and displacements for a component which is subjected to significant thermal gradient and vibration/dynamic inputs.

to date the method consists of carrying out a frequency response analysis with material data input for the elevated temperatures.

i am thinking that the following method may be more representative.

1) carry out thermal analysis
2) use the results in a linear static analysis to calculate the static thermal stress.
3) carry out frequency response analysis to calculate stress due to dynamic inputs.
4) add the linear and dynamic stresses by superposition to get the max.i can do this as the same FE model (same nodes and elements)will be used for each analysis.

my question is do the more experienced members think my new approach is the more correct one.thanks in advance.
