Combining Epanet Networks

I have two epanet networks for adjacent sites and would like to combine them into a single network but am really battling to import one into the other without loosing data

the closest i got was exporting to text and then importing the text, but it only imported the text blocks and messed up all the links.

is there a solution or am i wasting my time

use a text editor to combine the 2 files into 1 file
each section will have to be (meshed) inserted and compare the names of the nodes, links and other entities to ensure they are different

import combined file

build the connections and/or delete the duplicates
