Combined footing problem

Hello, I have a question about a foundation I'm designing. It's a combined footing with moment, shear, and axial forces.
I wanted to know if there's a biographical description that explains how the stability of this foundation is calculated against overturning.

Isn't it just first principles? I.E draw your loads and their applied locations and check for overturning about the toe of the footing. If your bracing causes uplift on one frame but compression on the other, in my mind you can count on both concurrently as the compression will help with the overturning.
