Colors in views

Is there a way to make different faces of a solid different colors in different saved views? I want the solid to have a single color in all views but then add a view called COATINGS that will show the four final colors of the various faces. Is this possible in NX 6?

Are you talking about views on a Drawing or the views in a multi-view screen layout?

Views in a multi-view screen layout, staying in Modeling module. We finalize our designs as "model based definition", putting annotations on views as needed, no drawings.

Sorry, I know of no way to have the same face be a difference color in different views shown in a multi-view layout. However, if the same view was displayed multiple times as part of a Drawing then it IS possible to edit the color of a face of a model to be different in each of the views.

About the only thing that can be done in a modeling view is to create duplicate objects placed on different layers, assigning them different colors and then using...

Format -> Visible in View...

...to make that various objects visible, based on their layers, in each view so that the desired colors are displayed.
