Does anyone know the details of clorox testing to examine the corrosion resistance of connectors? Is there any correlation between clorox and MFG testing

Sometime people using the chlorox testing testing to determine the corrossion resist. at fitting. But, mostly this test is not applicable. Why? Because corrossion is related with material of fitting. For example: Stainless Steel cannot be tested with chlorox since the caracteristic of SS which is not resistant to chlor.
Another example: If you intent to test a back ferrule of 316 SS tube fitting with chlorox, it's not useful since back ferule will never contacted by fluid inside the system. If it is contacted means the fitting leaks!
