I have customized a Material Library with the material used by us, with density and our material codes etc.
How ever, I would also like to assign a color to the selected part related to the assigned material - is this possible?

I manage to create a Journal that on it's own assigns a color to a body/part - but I want this to occur at the same time when I are assigning materials to the part.

Would really appretiate some help with this one.

No, but you could probably write a program with a user interface (block styler, winforms) that you use instead of the out of the box assign material function.

If this is for review purposes then you could use HD3D Visual Reporting to temporarily display component/bodies in a color that depends on for example the material attribute.

@petulf Thanks for your reply. To bad though that it's not possible with the OOTB solution.
Purpose is to inherit color/material to external rendering software. And since I need to assign material to the parts I thought it would be clever to als assign a specific color to a specific material.

I'll keep digging.

Thanks though
