The use of Cold Finger for TEG concentration has been done for several years. The original patent was drafted in 1975 by Laurence Reid in a paper presented at the Gas Conditioning Conference in Norman Oklahoma (now refered to as the Laurence Reid Conference). The process involves concentrating the glycol by installing a trough that helps concentrate the glycol (by removing the water) further shifting the equilibrium. The theorical result would be to concentrate the glycol, hence, you might achieve a lower dewpoint.
True life (reality) has been mixed. In my operations, these have not worked when installed. We will, however, install a Stahl column that can have varying purge gas rates. This design is better and proven.
