Does anyone know a reference where I could find information about coal seepage monitoring?, any Quality control specifications? lab tests?

The way we plan to do it is by drilling some boreholes (it seems the ground mass is underlaying mostly by coal). After this, we plan to install piezometers and/or any other type of sensor/device where we could read the velocity of water seeping through the coal strata.

Other that, are there any special lab tests for coal?

Not sure if this is the appropiate forum for this.
