I am working with a few light assemblies, and putting them in a soft rubber housing. So, we have a three light assembly.
For inspection purposes, we need to inspect the mating surfaces and see if there are interferences between the light assembly and the housing. There seems to be an issue with lights from one vendor not assembling as easily as the other vendor. I measured the lights and found some differences.
The issue lies in comparing the lights in the same housing and seeing why one light is easier to assemble than the other. I have measured the lights and recorded the measurements. The issue is how do I assemble the lights in the housing and prove where the lights are different in the housing?
I was thinking of getting some Repo Rubber, and creating a negative of the housing. Then, measure the similar dimensions, that were different on the lights, and measure it on the Repo of the housing. Are there better or easier methods?
