close lines in draftsite

Hi everybody. I am a draftsman that uses autocad at work,(can afford that at home) I have started trying to use draft site at home to do some side projects. this software is new to me.
it is a lot like cad but in other ways different. long story short I cannot get my lines closed like spline to polyline connected. can I convert splines back into poly lines, tried pedit but it wont let me select the splines. its probably a simple operation but I cant get it. I cant get my letters to close for a tool path in vcarve. can anyone help?

Sounds to me like you don't have snap on. It should take care of the issue you're having.
Help -> snap settings.

The command that you're looking for is ExplodeX.
I had to use it recently and it seems to work great, but sometimes the complexity of the spline can require a crazy precision number.
