Folks,
Any suggestion on cleaning method of silt deposition in a raw water pump station. The intake has a 1 mm screen. The pump station wet well invert is 60 ft deep. Will a VAC truck able to pull the deposition out of the wet well?
Install a mud pump?? The silt cannot be send back to the river or there is not other receiving station, other than if depositing in a dumpster is an option.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Is Mud Pump to pump out deposited silt an option?

At a couple of plants I worked at we had used pressurized air to raise silt so raw water pumps would remove from wet well. We then isolated the flocculator basin and the flow was then diverted to the drain of the flocculator and sent to sludge processing. A couple of galvanized steel sections of pipe were used to move around the floor of the wet well and connected to a construction compressor. The plant I work at now has a vacuum truck and at 40 feet they say it puts a lot of stress on the truck.
