Hi everybody

Is NACE requirements to carbon steel underlining a cladded vessel or nozzles fitted with weld overlay applicable or Not?
Many Thanks.

Depends upon one's confidence in the complete integrity of of the cladding or overlay and the ability to detect any breaches.

Thanks for your comment, suppose that you have sound cladding, is it possible we do not consider the NACE requirements for Base Metal or with consideration of NACE requirements it seems we spend money without any achievement?

Clause A.13.1, para 2 of NACE MR0175 requests that the carbon steel base material "...shall comply with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156-2..", unless the user can demonstrate and document the likely long term integrity of the cladding..

So, carbon content limit, equivalent carbon limit, sulphur content limit and hardness limit galore.
