How do you calculate the capacity of a CJP weld that has tension and shear acting on it? Everything I have found has individual checks for welds that only have tension or shear but not both.

Loading of welds with Eccentricity Normal to the Plane of the Faying Surface is on page 8-14 of the Steel Construction Manual (13th Edition). It is treated similarly to that as Eccentricity in the Plane of the Faying Surface.

If it is a CJP groove weld, failure is controlled by the base metal per Table J2.5
