Hi there!

Wondering if someone could help me!?

So I have a CHP where the exhaust gas leaving the Engine is 500 degrees, flowing at a rate of 5472kg/h, with temperature after Steam generator at 200 degrees, how can I calculate the amount of heat being supplied to the Steam Generator? The heat capacity of the gas is 1,1892 kJ/kg-C.

Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Am I missing something?
Q = mdot x Cp x (T1-T2)
= 5472/3600 x 1.1892 x (500 - 200)
= 542 kJ/s (542 kW)
Homework?
