I know this has been discussed in the past, but with all of the new cameras emerging I would like the experts' opinions on which camera to buy. I would like one that is radiometric for our applications of insultation evaluation and electrical connection audits. We are currently looking at the IR-CAM TPM 4 as it seems to offer the most features/resolution in a reasonable price range.

Are there any warnings about this camera? Any others I should be considering?

Thanks in advance for the opinions!

This is a FLIR E65 camera that has been private labeled for these guys - likely get better support directly from FLIR. For information and pricing on a variety of camera's from different manufacturer's - including the FLIR E Series, go to:

Take a look at the M4 camera as well as it is the size of a cell phone and does thermal and visual imaging - compares well to the E65 and is priced lower.

Good luck and give me a call if you need assistance.

I waited to buy after taking Level I training with an independent company not affiliated with any manufacturer. In our class many types were brought in by students, some high end some not. We quickly learned about limitations of each imager type and which ones had the best resolution.

When I attended a Level II course, we learned even more about limitations. Some high end units had no better IFOV than ones costing thousands less. Get your hands on ones you like and work with them for a week or two before you decide. You may be perfectly happy with a basic imager.
