Hello

I am trying to find a bearing that will fit a rod with the dimensions bellow

1.5 centimeters diameter

And the rod will spin in whole with 1.8 centimeter diameter. I want it to be tight fit such that when shake the device the rod won't rotate. But when I try to rotate the rod with average arm and hand strength it will rotate.

What type of bearing is the best bearing for this?

Thank you

From the information you have given, any type of bearing will work.

However, you will have to add a friction brake or detent to stop movement. In applications I am familiar with, this is accomplished by pushing a plastic pad against a surface with a spring. The tension on the spring can be adjusted to give the correct "feel".

You probably want a pair of bearings, not a single bearing. Call NTN, NSK, SKF, etc. and talk to an applications engineer about what you want to do - an applications engineer can keep you out of trouble.
