I am looking for the chloride limit of both zirconium and titanium. We are beginning the switch from chlorine gas to bleach for the treatment of our cooling tower water and want to avoid any problems with elevated chloride levels coming into contact with these metals. Any information you could provide would be helpful.

Crevice Corrosion of Titanium under certain chloride-temperature conditions might be an issue and hot dry chlorine is an issue - otherwise no problem with chlorides or wet chlorine.

Zirconium- slight issues if FeCl3 present due to Stress Corrosion Corrosion.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for.
