How much chloride (HCl) is normally found in the flue gas from a coal fired boiler? Do some types of coal have higher concentrations of chloride than others?

It depends on the coal. Yes. A mineral assay of the coal should tell you how much Cl is present.

If you have a FGD system the Cl can impact the system's performance. If gypsum is produced for sale, high Cl will lower the value of the gypsum.

And of course, it will make any condensate much more corrosive. In electroststic dust collectors it also changes the condutivity of the dust.

Corrosion, every where, all the time.
Manage it or it will manage you.
