Chilling unit

Hi all,

I need some help with chilling system. I understand there are a few types of absorption chiller units using different refrigerant e.g. lithium bromide and freon etc. However, all these require cooling water/ sea water. Are there available technology in the market such that we do not need cooling water/ sea water? I need to cool water/glycol solution from 19degC to 13degC.

Yes, the technology is available and as old as the refrigeration technology itself. What you have to do is go for a chiller with an air cooled condenser. No cooling water, no sea water and no nonsense except a bit higher power consumption.

BTW, compression systems use freons and absorption systems use LiBR/water or water/ammonia systems.
