It is very cool!
Unfortunately I am stuck at 2008. My boss will not renew my maint contract.[sad]
I will look into other means personally or transfer to another group.

Ug. Judging by what I've seen, 2008 might be the wrong version in which to be stuck. I really like what I'm seeing of 2009 so far--looks quite a lot more polished, and I'm hoping for fewer bugs in the production releases.

Thanks Theophilus,
I would never have found this site for days without your help. A star for you.

They blocked flash vids because too many users were wasting time on Youtube (where else you going to see a monkey drinking it's own.. well nevermind). Anyway, after y'alls response (yes, we still say y'all in TX), I can't wait to visit that site tonight at home.

ctopher,
Have your boss read "Matt Writes" at web site The Summary really says it all.

I can hardly wait for Matt Lombard’s SolidWorks 2009 Bible.

By the way I am going to purchase the SolidWorks 2009 Bible directly from Matt.

My boss doesn't know what SolidWorks is, and he's in a different state. This is my 4th manager in 2 years, same group.

Are you keeping a keen eye on your red stapler, Chris?

Yes, I have it chained to my pant belt loop.
I don't work Sundays, we don't have a basement to mve me to, and the building is brick and will be hard to burn...I think I'm safe. :)

Have been using Solidworks 2009 for a month or so now and am at present using Pre-Release 1.

I think it is really good with new features like slot tool, easier dimensioning and Photoview 360 rendering to name but a few.

Still a few bugs. However Solidworks are making a massive effort to sort them out quickly.

What I like about 2009 most, is the effort Solidworks have made to make the programme more efficient in all sesnes of the word as opposed to adding on loads of new half-baked features.

Re not renewing maint contracts, please remember Solidworks have started charging some kind of late payers fee recently.

Regards

WP
