Hello guys. I'm willing to make a car chassis using Solid Edge ST. I'm able to do several parts, but I really don't know how I can make steel tubes.

Is there any way I can sketch the chassis with lines, and then convert them to squared section tubes?

If not, how would you do a chassis?

Thanks a lot!!

Try Frames command.

Beachcomber, after I posted the thread I kept on looking and realized there is suposed to be a "frame"command.

I saw it on youtube, saw it on the help menu. But there's no such button on MY Solid Edge ST, and I can't find the way to include it.

I revised Program Files/Solid Edge

And there's a "Frame" folder with all ANSI/DIN etc profiles.

Any clues on what might be happening?

Thanks a lot.

QSQCAITO,

There is a "Frame" command in SEST, but only in the traditional environment.
And I'am not sure, but I think you also need a classic license.

The Frames command is available with a Classic or a Foundation licence. Design & Drafting doesn't include it.

OK, just looked into it in ST, I haven't used the Frame command since V20.

It's under the Tools tab, the section "Environs" at the far right. First column of icons, it's the bottom icon. It's called "Frame Design".

Thank you very much Gemnoc.

I found it on V20, when I went to my friend's house. So if ST fails to do a frame with me, I'm getting V20 (back again).

As soon as I get home I'll tell you If there's such button!

Hope there is!
