I'm currently putting together a series of sketches from SW to pass onto our drawing office.

All of the parts are pretty similar, just a couple of dim changes between each one.

I was wondering if there is a way to create the first drawing with sections, detail views etc, then re-saving and inserting the other parts as I go while mainting the views and dims?

Thanks.

Also,
You can use SW Explorer.

or,
Create the part and dwg.
For new parts/dwgs, open first part and dwg above.
Part ... save as new part, then - dwg ... save as new dwg.
Repeat for additional parts/dwgs.

Thanks Chris,

Got it, bit new on this so I guess a bit of learning to do!

Cheers,

There is another way..

Click on the existing drawing file and then hit the REFERENCES button. When you dble click on the current pathname, you get a normal file menu and you can pick a new reference.

This works on 2006, anyway. Be careful to save the drawing file with a new name.
