I was informed by my colleague that all motors that are classified to be used in hazardous areas (eg. EEx de etc) must have its bearing changed by certified company/personnel authorised to work on such motors. This is provided under the hazardous area protection method standards. Could you notify on such standard (such as ANSI or IEC)so that i could refer to? My knowledge is that you only need to send to authorised agent if the work involve changing of the winding and motor terminal box.

If the motor has as UL-label for hazardous location, then you probably need to check with motor manufacturer regarding bearing replacement.
