Hi all,

I have a difficult question so please don't get me wrong.
I have a set of RF transmitter/receiver (see photo of receiver). When the transmitter transmits, then the receiver responds by triggering a vibrator not continuouly but periodically (let's say 0,5 sec vibrating and then 0,5 sec no vibration and so on).
My poor mind says that the 0,5 sec period is somewhat related with a capacitor that is part of the circuit and since I wish to make the 0,5 sec period to become a 5 sec one, I must replace the capacitor with a bigger....

How this sounds to you?

It's possible, but I doubt the delay is due to a discrete component... more likely due to a micro.

I would agree. You can probably include a small 8 pin micro with internal RC oscillator in a design for less than the cost of a 555 and a handful of discretes.
It's impossible to say without a schematic or at least the part numbers of the IC's on the receiver board.
If you think you have located the timing capacitor, time verses capacitance is linear so a 10x increase of capacitance will give you a 10x increase in time.
