Please kindly advise me whether a requalification of PQR is required when changing from ER-70S2 TO ER-70S6.
Since I have a WPS qualified with ER-70S2+E7018. However, due to the non-availability of ER-70S2 can I use ER-70S6 without qualifying for new PQR.

Only if you can confirm the ER70S6 meets the A1 analysis, which you should be able to confirm easily.

It would be helpful if you cited a specific code.

Best regards - Al

My comment refers only to ASME IX, of course.

Generally, when working to the Farm Code, electrode classification is not an essential variable. As long as it sticks until it breaks, all is good.

As I asked before, what is the governing code and I'll add the question; is CVN a concern?

Best regards - Al
