I have a rigid surface I am moving into a deformable surface. I want to initially move it with displacement since it will converge faster, but once I am in contact I want to replace it with a specific force. How do I do that in Ansys.

Thanks

That sounds messy! Why not apply the displacement (U) throughout i.e. first step apply U to bring into contact, second step apply remaining U? In the second step where you apply the remainder of the U, you can just back-calculate the force to make sure it matches with your applied U?

That is what I was planning to do. I was just seeing if I could replace it with a force within one of the steps. That way I would not have to back calculate and rerun if it was over or under the applied force.
