Change in material class vs change in consumable selection

Sorry if the question is silly, but a little confused here.
If material SA387 Grade 5 class1 changes to class2 or class3, should the welding consumable selection be affected?
OR would it need requalification?
Currently welding SA387 grade 5 class 1 with E8018-B6.
