Hello,

Does anyone know how to change the orientation of a weldment structural member? I know how to rotate it, but for an angle, that only gives you half of the possible orientations. One thing I have discovered, is that it depends on the "direction" that you draw the line. However, often this is not convenient to change your sketch.

See the attached screen shot for additional clarity:

Thank you,

This has annoyed me as well, I have 2 ways around this. The first is creating lefthand & righthand profiles, the second is to deselect all lines, select a different line until you get the proper orientation, then deselect that line and keep the first (in the correct orientation). A little annoying, but it works

I prefer (and use) the change line direction method most of the time. However, no work-around is ever without its pros and cons and user comfort and knowledge is always a factor when deciding which method to use. Another option is to edit the structual sketch and exchange the leg lengths then edit the Structual Memeber feature to rotate the profile to where you want it. Some people may feel this is easier than all the previous mentioned.
