Chamfer 1

Hi,

I have an attached an image.
Please explain about the chamfer dimension. The chamfer is provided to an angled surface.
The chamfer plays very important role in the functionality of the component.

On which edge do we provide the linear dimension and the 45 degree angle?

The dimension is in error, a 45 degree chamfer can not be applied to a corner that is not 90 degrees with any clarity. If the design intent is to have the chamfer applied equally to both, the a .002-.006 X .002-.006 dimension should be shown. If the intent is that one side should be 45 degrees from the chamfer, then that 45 degree angle should be shown. If you are checking the drawing, then mark it up to suit the design intent. If the drawing is from a customer, ask what the intent is and suggest that the dimension be revised.

I would dim the cham angle the same as the 30 deg angle dim.

That 30° angle looks nearer to 60° ... gotta be an ACAD sketch.
