Chain and Lock method to supervise a valve

Good morning, I have several valves controlling the main water supply to domestic and fire protection services. Those valves, instead to have a supervisor reporting to the fire pànelpanel are protected with chain and lock. Is that accepted by NFPA_

Yes as long as you have a documented monthly and annual inspections as per NFPA 25. If this new construction the valves may need to be electrically supervised check with your local AHJ.

It varies around the country but in Georgia you will have to have it supervised electronically.
