Hi,

Has anybody come across the term CERM (Critical Equipment & Reliability Management), as a philosophy for critical facilities maintenance?

It is being much vaunted within my organisation, yet nobody can give me a concise explination of what it comprises, or of how it is implemented.

Thanks
Paul Dennis

Consultants Earning Ridiculous Money (CERM)?

Never heard of it, but its probably a rehash of the same old concepts marketed before with all the cutesy acronyms.
BOHICA - bend over here it comes again

good luck

Hmmm, perhaps it means fix it before it breaks? This would be contrary to most places I have worked that will utilize a piece of equipment until it falls apart and then scramble to get it working again.

This was as close a match on a quick search as I was able to find.

Regards,

It sounds more like predictive maintenance.Only monitoring critical pieces of equipment. At the first indicator that there is an impending problem, maintenance is scheduled.
