I need various type of half inch ceramic balls (alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide and nitride) for laboratory uses. Can anyone help with getting bearing grade ceramic balls?

You might find that only Si3N4 is listed as bearing grade. SiC and ZrO2 can be found in pretty good quality at houses that make them as a primary product. ZrO2 balls are used a great deal in powder and ink milling operations. Get yttria stabilized zirconia.
