Dear Sirs

i would have an important question to do..Do centrifugal pumps with backlog impeller (see attached file) in compliance with API 610 11th ed.??

thx a lot and best regards

Backlog impeller = recessed impeller

If I'm seeing the drawing correctly it looks like an open impeller, and that would not be in compliance with API610.

why not in compliance?

thank and best regards

6.6.1 (5.6.1) Unless otherwise specified, impellers shall be of
the fully enclosed, semi-open or open type.

Note: Previously, only fully enclosed impellers applied with
other types with purchaser’s approval.

In other words, open impellers are permitted, unless the purchaser states otherwise.

Living in the old 6th & 7th Edition world of API. Did not realize opens are allowed without approval.

No it is not on API.
This pump does not meet API 610 standard.

Recessed impellers are used for other industries, application and fluids that are not on gas/petroleum refinery industry.
