Centrifugal Compressor Effeciency Calculation.

Hello everyone,

Is there any guidelines concerning the effeciency calculations of a centrifugal compressor which is in service connected to real process system.

If you consider the compression process as an adiabatic process (the inlet and discharge temperature measurement should be close to compressor) then calculate the theoretical discharge adiabatic temperature and compare it with your actial one. This will give you a common view. If you want to calculate the polytropic efficiency then calculate polytropic head, inlet and discharge enthalpy and as a result - efficiency.
