Hello,

I have created a new axis system and I would like to know the CG of a body relative to this new axis but the measuring tool kept on giving the result to the absolute system.

Thank you,
DVE

DVE,

I'm not sure if it's possible, but you can measure the distance (dx,dy,dz) from two axis sys. and do the math.
Or move the geometry.

Damir

DVE - inside the measuring tool check the other axis box and select the new axis created.

CATPart - Thanx
DBezaire - Is it already available in V5R14 ??? I can´t find it ....

I do not have the "other axis" option available in the inertia tool. For "measure", yes, but Inertia, no. That would lead me to believe that the only way to take an accurate CG measure based on geometry location, is to physically move it.

Maybe you can script this to include a specific axis. (not sure) Record a macro, and see if it includes the default axis. If so, make a new axis, and rename the default in the macro.

You can customize the MEASURE ITEM tool to include the CG location. The MEASURE ITEM tool does allow you to choose OTHER AXIS.

Unfortunately, you can't measure Inertia or Moments with this MEASURE ITEM tool.
