CEMS Carbon Monoxide Spikes

Afternoon everyone,

We have recently been getting short but high CO and TOC spikes from our incinerator, for short periods of time (around 3-4 minutes). It is not a historic issue, and nothing major has changed. We run a primary and secondary kiln, with temperatures from 800 for the primary and around 900-1000 for the secondary with an O2 of around 9 -13% and a residence time in the secondary chamber of around 2 seconds.

The material being burned is animal waste and carcasses - biocontainment facility.

Any ideas or things that I could try?

Thanks to share with us the composition of the exhaust gas during Normal operation and spikes.
Could it be a defect of one piece of equipment (main equipment or analyzer)?
Could it be a change of process parameters which affects the combustion?
Could it be a stream added for 3 or 4 minutes, let say a washing stream, responsible for the problem?
I don't see issue with the material .
Good luck,
Pierre
