Hello all,

I 'm trying to import a .CDB file format into my ansys workbench software for static structural analysis. Now i would like to edit the geometry of the .CDB file format in ansys ( some minor alterations). but i could not import the file into ansys geometry modeller. Also is there any way i can convert the model in the .CDb file into a solid works model so that i can work with solidworks. Kindly help me with this. thanks in advance.

Regards,
Svchakra

It depends how the .cdb file was written out to begin with. In ANSYS you have an option to write out a .cdb file with geometry (if the geometry is present) - ANSYS will write out an IGES file to represent the geometry as well as the FE model. If I understand you correctly then you should be able to read the IGES file into Geometry Modeller.

HEllo Drej, Thank you for your kind help. We opened the .CDB file in Finite element modeller in anasys workbench module. I could open the model with the mesh in that module. Is there any way i could convert this file into a geometry file, so that i could open in the geometry modeller to make the minor alterations.

Thank you
