Catia V5 File Open Problems

Hello all,
I have received Catia V5 catparts and product files from one of our customers. When I attempt to open a catpart or product file the machine hangs up. This has never happened before. Is there something else I can do?

are they using the same release of CATIA as you?

We have that problem where I work when we open too large of an assembly and our computer can't handle it.

Check the release by opening the file in a text editor and search for "v5r"

If the release is ok, the try to open just the product and check the links. I would recommend to copy the product into an other folder and turn of documents and links in tools/option so you just get the product opened.
