Is there any way of importing the airfoil coordinates (all at once) into Catia so the airfoil will be automatically generated?

If yes, could you tell me what Catia function does this?
If yes, is the airfoil generated as a closed spline or do I have to join all points manually?

If not what is the fastest way to draw an airfoil by coordinates using Catia?
I would like to draw the wing using two different (NACA) airfoils and I would like to know if the exact coordinates could be used to do this job.

Thank you very much for your time.

Hi :
I have a CATIA demo about this fuction what you care about. In this demo, we can type all the point coordinates data into the Microsoft Excel. And then run a macro, the macro will input all the points into CATIA automaticly. And then create the spline and loft surface automaticly.
For this function I think you can get some information on the CATIA online documentation. You can search it by key word "excel" or maybe "automation". You will find a example.
Good Luck!

Webroot, are you using V4 or V5 ?.
It is important to say from the start as it will determine how to solve your problem.
If you are on V4 then elements can be created from coordinate data, but only if the system it is running on has the right background software in place. This means that someone has installed the Geometry Interface (CATGEO) programs to do this.
If V5 is what you are using then it gets much simpler especially for V5R9 and above as everything you need is there. See my reples to Thread 560-39970.
Search the Help Documentation for " Creating Elements from External Files ".
Cheers,
Dave
