I am reverse-engineering a cast iron pan and the handle has some semi-complicated curves. Wondering what the best method of modeling this would be. Loft with guide curves? Sweep with guide curves?

Thanks!

I will try that approach. Thank you!

The best way to do this as I look at my cast iron pan is as follows.

If there is symmetry always cut it in half. I.E. If you put a horizontal plane down the center of the handle is the top and bottom symmetrical? Its best to surface a symmetric feature and then mirror that to create the whole thing.

I have designed several hand remotes this way and it works best to do guide curves and section lines, kind of like when lofting the hull of a boat.
