care about shaft misalignment...?

shaft misalignment on transmiting power cause energy loss beside of premature demage on machine parts.
shaft misalignment cause bad friction in transmiting system such as flexible coupling.
this phenomena cause relative motion between driving shaft and driven shaft and reduce the rotational speed (rpm).
Power(P) = T.n......
in this case is just speed reduction only,..? how about torque,..?
can u give me explanation or reference to solve this problem,..?

It is said that misallignemt can cause 5-10% power loss, or so I have heard.

Ensure your machine and drive are correctly alligned. Have a look at Rexnords 'Magnalink' it is a noncontact coupling that transmits the torque via magnetic force.

There are several dozen different types of shaft couplings, none of which are perfect, but several will probably do the job. Ultimate selection will depend on torque, speed, misalignment and environmental conditions.

Alignment is a key issue, but during operation unavoidable deflections/misalignment usually occur and that's where a coupling's design and properties stand out (or fail).

Define the application a little and maybe someone can help out.
