Carbonator for soda fountain. Has a water pump with motor connected to a soda tank to mix CO2 and water. If the tank is not grounded to sink the motor won't shut off. Why is this? Thanks 😊

Hire an electrician.
Don't rehire the last one.

You are possibly exposing to DANGER !. Switch off and LOCK up the system. Do NOT try to DIY. Call in a qualified electrician immediately.

You need an electrician that has machinery troubleshooting skills. I concur this carbonator is dangerous to anyone nearby. If the carbonator was powered through a GFCI it would trip on power up.
