I'm a mechanical engineer with limited electrical experience. I'm looking for advice or resources I can use to select the appropriate capacitor for a DC-to-DC converter we purchased. It is a vicor dc module brick also attaching an emi filter. The input is 28V (10A), to be down converted to 12V. The setup is in the attached image.

Any advice on how to select the correct capacitor for the three positions (Cin, Cin-dcm, and Cout-ext). The only thing I see in the DC converter data sheet is that Cout-ext ranges between 1000 and 10000uF (transient 10000uF).
