Hello all,

Quick question...can anybody recommend a resource for designing threads? For example, I am looking to design a cap to fit a short interior-threaded 6061 aluminum pipe which is 1.250" OD with a 0.065" wall and threaded 24 TPI, with a major/minor diameter of 1.165"/1.125" respectively, to a depth of 0.450". Said cap is going to be solid and have a threaded portion of about 0.350" in length that threads inside the tube, and then flares out to the OD of the tube for a short length. Interior threads can and are going to be in the white, but the threads for the removable cap are going to have to be coated to a thickness of 0.001" or 1 mil. I'm just looking for a basic resource to assist in considerations relative to designing the threads for the cap.

Many thanks for any replies!
