Cantilever/ sliding gate grounding help 1

I am trying to find a solution to grounding a sliding substation gate, but have not found a solution. I noticed another thread but that solution wont work for me. Does anyone have any ideas.

we have thought of a retractable cable, and put a wire on a track that curtains when opened, but have no idea how to implement this.

Any help would be appreciated.

We tie wrap the welding cable (for flexibility) to rings that slide on a stainless steel cable, getting the curtain rod effect.

Do you happen to have a photo or detail showing how this might be done that we could use to explain to our contractor?

I would think you could bond your grounding strap to one of the the roller bolts. Then check continuity between the gate and grid at several pionts of closure.

In our new regulated world, the roller and track may have to be approved as a current carrying device if used for grounding.
After a few years I would be very nervous trusting a ground connection between a roller and a track. Think about some old rolling gates that you have seen. A patina of corrosion is not generally a good or a dependable electrical connection.

USE a length of double unistrut (P1001 or equal) between the gate and the fence. Use Unistrut P2750 trolly fitting in the lower track to support a festooned cable( I used welding cable because of the flexability)

All the hardware to fasten the stut to the fence is in the nistrut catalog. B-Line, Powerstut etc all make similar fittings.
