Can't see intersection point

Hello all,

In sketcher, creating an intersection point is very troublesome because it's so small it's practically invisible (especially with other sketch geometry overlapping). The attached images displays the process of creating an intersection point on an ellipse, but because there are two possibilities for the location, I need to press Cycle solutions. However, because I can't see it, it's impossible to know or even guess where it is. In this case the overlapping geometry and the view angle covers the intersection point 'X' so that it disappears.

Is there an option to increase the size or change the color so that at least the intersection point is visible?

While there is a way to change the size of 'points', it has an impact on many other things as well, including the behavior of some dialogs, which is a bit of a PIA. And besides, it wouldn't really help all that much with your situation. What I would recommend instead is that while in the Sketcher, toggle ON the 'Display Sketch Constraints' since this will place a circle around each point that was created ON a curve, which would include your 'Intersection Point'. While it doesn't actually make the point easier to see, it will at least indicate that a point does in fact exist there.

Sketch constraints is already displayed, but doesn't show a circle around the intersection point.

If the size cannot be changed, the other method is to be able to define the color of the intersection point, which you can define in sketch preferences - recipe curves. However, the strange thing is that when creating the intersection point, it has the same color as 'inactive sketches' which makes it difficult to tell apart from other sketch geometry. Doing a refresh or regenerate work does not help. The workaround is to enter the Geometric constraints command, which will change the color to 'fully constrained curves'. When exiting this dialog, it will get the color of 'recipe curves'. Another workaround is to exit the sketch and re-edit the sketch again and it will also get the color of 'recipe curves'. This indicates that perhaps there is a bug where NX doesn't immediately render the correct color of the intersection point when it's created.

John, I think you misunderstood my original question. I'm referring to "Intersection Point", but I assume you are thinking about "Sketch Point" with the intersection constraint. With "sketch points", I have no problem with the constraint symbols. However, my question is about the "intersection point" command, which creates an associative point at the intersection between other geometry and the sketch plane.

OK, understood.

Generally what I do in that situation, since this is a 3D sort of operation, is simply rotate the view out of the plane of the sketch and then the 'intersection points' will become more apparent. And of course you could still use that albeit clumsy scheme for changing the apparent displayed size of points.
