CANNOT SAVE/EXPORT DXF!?!? SOLIDWORKS 2009 SP2.1

Greetings fellow engineers

It has come to my attention that I cannot export or save a dxf file i.e. I need to convert my part/sketch to a dxf file format and the option simply isn't there.

Tried to search everywhere but no luck hopefully somebody here can enlighten me on this matter

You need to place your part/sketch in a drawing. Then you can save the drawing as a dxf.
