Cannot project edge to sketch plane..need help.

We are just getting our catia V5R20 set up...when I create a product of two parts then want to project one edge of one of the parts to the sketch of the 2nd part it will not select the edge (I have done this millions of times at other companies)..all i get is the minus sign with the black circle...both solids in the product are simple solids. Is there a setting during installation or in catia to allow this. thanks.

Never mind....TOOLS-OPTIONS-INFRASTRUCTURE-PART INFRASTRUCTURE toggle off "Restrict external selection with link to published elements"
