Hi

I am an engineer in Australia, and looking for opportunity in Canada. Would like to know the Canadian Standard follows the UK or US rule?

Thanks.

Concrete Code (CSA A23.3-04) is 75% copy of the US Concrete Code (ACI 318)

Steel Code --> CSA S16-09
Concrete Code --> CSA A23.3-04

Similar to US code, quite different from BS code. Most Canadian engineers do US code as well. Doing US code help with understanding Canadian code as there are more references available.

Thanks everyone. Little bit more specific, I am mainly practiced bridge and tunnel engineering in AU, and use AS5100, and sometimes refer to BS code. Does Canada follows AASHTO? Also, anyone knows the transportation market in Canada? Any big projects are coming in next few years? I know the light rail is happening in Toronto.

Thanks.

1. There are always projects on highway brides in North American

2. Canada highway bridge code is CSA-S6-06 Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, whatever lacking you can refer to AASHTO
