can you etch aluminum on an Amada FO-3015? thought id ask before I blow a lens [pc2]

I have tried with no consistent results. You can see it sometimes but it doesn't get deep enough. I also am still concerned about blowing a lens. Any extra advice from somebody would be great.

i once tried in LC1212 and broke my lens,
